“En rakasta sinua kuin olisit ruusu, topaasi
tai kimppu tulta ruokkivia neilikoita:
Rakastan sinua tavalla, jolla sinä rakastat tiettyjä hämäriä asioita,
salaisesti, varjojen ja sielun välistä.

Rakastan sinua kuin sitä kukkaa, joka ei puhkea kukkaan
ja joka pysyy piilossa muiden kukkien valossa,
ja kiitos rakkautesi, se elää kanssani varjoissa,
maasta noussut vahva haju.

Rakastan sinua tietämättä miten, koska tai edes missä,
rakastan sinua avoimesti, ilman ongelmia ylpeyteni kanssa:
rakastan sinua siin, sillä en tiedä mitään muuta tapaa rakastaa,

yksinkertaisesti näin, tavalla, jota minä en ole, etkä sinäkään,
niin lähellä, että kätesi rinnallani on omani,
niin lähellä, että silmäsi sulkeutuvat uneni mukana.”

-Pablo Neruda-

Marraskuu 2015

Sataa, sataa vettä....

Ihanaa sataa, sataa lunta....

Sataa, sataa vettä...

KOHTA SATAA LUNTA!!!

Lokakuu 2015

Pikkuhiljaa ilma kylmenee,

villasukat varpaisiin,

harteille lämmin, paksu ja pörröinen,

uuden uutukainen villapusero.

Katse syksyn kuulauteen, kauneuteen.

Illalla kynttilän valossa,

päivällä tuulta päin, reippaasti.

Valmistaudun talventuloon.

luotan sinuun ja itseeni.

Syyskuu 2015

Kaalipataa, rosollia.

Sieniä paistinpannulla.

Mustikkapiirakka.

Kynttilän valossa istuen,

luonnon ääniä kuunnellen.

Hiljaisuus, ihanuus.

Elokuu 2015

Elokuun tuoksu ulkona,

pelloilla kullankeltaiset viljantähkät

Auringonkukkien hehku,

auringonlasku kultainen.

Elokuun taika ja kuutamo.

Heinäkuu 2015

Kaikki on niin vihreää,

liiankin vihreää,

suorastaan yltäkylläistä.

Kesäsadetta aamuin ja illoin,

auringon pilkahdus silloin tällöin.

Silloin tällöin heinäkuun helteet meillä?

Kesä on täällä, viis sateista!

“And what was best, the beds were very good for sleeping and relaxing lazily.”

Last April my friend and I visited Istanbul where we stayed at the Orient Express Hotel. This was the first time in Istanbul for my friend. She fell in love with Istanbul just like I did some time ago. She liked the Hotel and thought that the City itself was really nice and tidy, and the people very friendly.

The Orient Express Hotel is situated in the Old Town, a few hundred metres away from the famous historic sights and monuments. Top Kapi, the underground water reserve, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, and so on, are well within a walking distance, the Great Bazaar is some 800 metres away.

If you are sports-minded, you can take your morning jogging in the Gulhane Park, about 150 metres from the Hotel. After that youll have the opportunity to dive into the swimming pool. And then you will be ready for the very tasty and bountiful Turkish breakfast. We could read the daily news in Sirkeci Daily Express, which we always found on the breakfast tables. The Daily Express contained lots of useful information about the Istanbul today and about its history, and also Turkish idioms that we tried to learn& The breakfast at the Hotel Orient Express was an excellent way to start the days activities. And they would take the whole day. You could, for example, take a tram to Taksim and find the famous shopping street Istikal Gaddesi.

The Orient Express Hotel is very well and centrally situated. The hotel staff are friendly and very polite. We noticed that already on the way from the airport to the hotel, in a car sent by the Hotel, when the chauffeur presented sights of the city to us. We saw the big fish market and other sights as well. The welcome to the Hotel was very friendly. Everything at the Hotel and with its staff went well and smoothly.

We were given a room on the sixth floor. It was very peaceful, no sounds disturbed us. The room was tidy and clean smelling. The daily cleaning was carefully done. The room was not very big, but all right for us. The bathroom was shiningly clean. And what was best, the beds were very good for sleeping and relaxing lazily.

The Restaurant Imbat on the top floor of the Hotel is well worth visiting both for the food and the panorama view. The view is incredible, Asia and Europe, the bridges joining them, the Palace of Top Kapi, and Haga Sofia beside it. All of that almost touchable!

The food, meat, fish and vegetables tasted fresh and were well made. The deserts almost melted in our mouths. The staff were eager to serve and friendly. It was a pleasure to have a meal at the Imbat Restaurant.

We can warmly recommend this hotel to our friends and to everyone else. We were very satisfied and decided to use this hotel always when visiting Istanbul. We got good quality for the price. In the future we will bring our grandchildren to see Istanbul and its many sights and we will stay at the Orient Express Hotel.
